I'm currently teaching 8th grade Spanish. I have taught all levels of Spanish, from kindergarten to high school, at various times in the past 17 years. I have a BA in Spanish and International Relations from Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, IL, and an MA in Spanish Language and Culture from the University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain. My shop includes all types of resources for Spanish and French, as well as materials for English Language Arts and ELL.

Months of the Year in Spanish 2 Booklets - Los Meses del Año - Students first read and cut out the booklet that contains text and images. They then sketch and create their own version using the text only template. Each booklet contains 12 pages, one for each month of the year. Each page contains a month with a clip art image to represent the month. Examples of images are a flowers for May, sunshine and the beach for August, Day of the Dead ofrenda for October and Santa for December. Also included are suggestions for using the booklets and an assembly instruction page. The illustration version can be projected in class to present, review and practice pronunciation of the vocabulary. The text only version can be projected onto the Smart Board and students can draw pictures on the Smart Board that correspond to the text.

Spanish Class Objects Human Bingo Game Speaking Activity - This activity provides practice asking "do you have" with tener concerning different class objects. Each student mingles with a bingo grid and must find different classmates that can reply yes to each of the 16 boxes. Each grid states "Tengo" plus different classroom objects that students frequently have. When a student replies yes to a question, the questioning student follows up by asking in Spanish for the student's signature. The goal is to be the first student to fill the entire bingo grid. Also included is a follow up worksheet that requires students to: 1. Write a sentence for each of the 16 boxes in the grid. The student includes the name of the student that signed the box and must change the verb to the third person. 2. Write an appropriate Spanish school word under 6 images at the bottom of the paper. This is a great back to school speaking review / get to know you activity for students with prior Spanish experience. 2 pages

The skit includes the use of necesitar plus infinitive, estar, hay, 4 color words, and 5 different school supplies. Included are notebooks, folders, pens, pencils and eraser. There are several useful phrases such as por fin, vale, gracias por, de nada, por favor, and algo más. Included in the download: 1. Skit in Spanish and English, copied 2 per page for student handouts. 2. Skit in Spanish only, copied 2 per page for student handouts. This can be used as a translation assignment. 3. Skit in large font that can be projected and used for presenting and practicing vocabulary as a class. The student includes the name of the student that signed the box and must change the verbs to the third person. Some will require students to use the possessive de. 2. Write an appropriate Spanish infinitive verb under 6 images at the bottom of the paper. This is a fun way for students to share what they did during their spring vacations while reviewing preterit verb conjugations.
